Employment Exchange Registration

The Employment Exchange (Compulsory Notification of Vacancies) Act, 1959 governs the registration process. It requires employers in certain establishments to notify vacancies to employment exchanges. Job seekers register voluntarily to receive job alerts and referrals.

The National Career Service (NCS) portal, under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, manages online registration. The official website is www.ncs.gov.in. State-level employment exchanges also operate under the respective State Labour Departments.

To register, visit the NCS portal and create an account using your Aadhaar or mobile number. Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, work experience, and preferred job categories. Upload scanned copies of required documents. After submission, you will receive a registration number. You can then search for jobs and apply directly through the portal.

No specific form is required for online registration. However, you need to provide:

• Aadhaar card (for verification)
• Educational certificates (10th, 12th, degree, etc.)
• Work experience letters (if any)
• Recent passport-size photograph
• Caste certificate (if applicable)
• Disability certificate (if applicable)

Any Indian citizen aged 14 years or above can register. There is no upper age limit. You must have a valid Aadhaar number and a mobile number linked to Aadhaar. Educational qualifications must be verifiable.

The registration process is completed online within a few minutes. After submission, the registration number is generated immediately. However, verification of documents may take a few days. No specific timeline can be guaranteed as it depends on the portal's processing.
